It’s through the lens that Dan best captures a point of view, with a creative eye and technical know-how, he brings the director’s vision to life, creating composition and sculpting light and shadow to paint a story.
Dan discovered filmmaking while an undergraduate at Colorado College and went on to the University of Southern California to receive an M.F.A. in Film and Video Production with a focus on Cinematography. His first job working for Kirk Douglas as a Production Assistant catapulted him into a career in film that spans over 12 years. He works in a wide range of genres from feature films and documentaries to music videos, commercials and reality television. Recently, Dan collaborated with Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2, Step Up 3D), Paramount and Ryan Landels on the hit series The LXD: The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers. Currently, Dan is in pre-production on the feature A Detour in Life, directed by Rob Walker.
When Dan is not shooting you can usually find him skiing, surfing, biking or piloting small planes.
